Happy day after Labor Day everyone! I’ve been away for a bit, again, due to my day job. I have this week off for vacation so I hope to get caught up and start a regular routine for blogging and social media. With some luck my book will be out by Christmas at the latest. I have some blogs to catch up on about my experience with the editing and page design with Page Publishing that came before the cover art but I’m so excited to share this first. The first pass of my cover art for my book, Rise of the Winged Assassin, has arrived!
Yes it’s here. When I got the notice from my coordinator I was so frightened to open it. What if it was no where near what I envisioned? Would I have to go find cover art somewhere else? I had asked if this was an option and was assured that I could in fact do this. When I opened the PDF though I was really surprised. It’s a first pass and there are some changes that I will be requesting. I want to share those with you so that you can see the changes as they happen.
First is the cover page
Now the back Cover
I was pleasantly surprised with this first pass and feel that this is something I can work with. The background doesn’t work for the book since there are no stone buildings where she lives and she lives in a forest. Also her clothing doesn’t fit my vision. I love the rest of it. I just sent in the requested changes today. The changes will take some time to come in so in the mean time I’m going to get caught up with the rest of the process with Page Publishing in coming posts.
Let’s see what they come up with!
