I will be getting on the Carnival Miracle cruise ship this week with my husband and we are so excited! Work has been frustrating, time consuming and the stress has been killing my creativity. I hope this upcoming time to relax is going to kick my writing back into gear.
Cruisers love to hide little ducks on the ships for people to find and either keep them or hide them for others to find again. I do have a few little ducks but I’m also placing some books out on the Serenity adults only deck and I’m doing this in the form of the Blind Date with a Book method.
While on vacation with some friends I went into a book store that had a shelf of these books, covered in paper with just a few clues on what the book was about. So it was up to the potential reader to decide with the clues given if they wanted to take that chance and read something that they wouldn’t have read otherwise.
I carefully chose one, raced home and opened up the book. It turned out to not be the kind of book I would have picked but I treated it as a true blind date and decided I would read the whole book. I had committed to this and in the end I did like the book.
So in addition to hiding some ducks I decided to wrap some of my books, my sisters books and a romance book of a fellow indie author who was on Instagram who was going through the marketing side of things at the same time I was.
Hopefully the readers will enjoy them! I enjoyed writing mine, my sisters and my romance author friend.
